This diode is the "heavier duty" glass diode - larger body, heavier leads as compared to the D1-D4 components above.

These LEDs have a  shorter lead denoting the catchode of the diode that is on the same side as a flat edge of the plastic body (sometimes hard to notice.)

This TO92-style plastic package has a half-round body. The flat side has the numbers "2222" printed on it.

This metal-can transistor has the part number printed on the side.

This 18-pin IC may be supplied stuck in anti-static foam as shown here, or in a short plastic tube. Static-sensitive, handle with care. Part is pre-programmed with Test Program.

This 3-terminal regulator is covered in plastic and has a flat side that should be oriented against the pc board.
